Chemical smells in pregnancy is it safe

THis is in regards to the fumes I am inhaling sometimes at work while working for a chemicals compnay. Though I work in the office not the plant sometimes when there is chemical work at the plant due to connecting doors the office is full of odor. This is an issue as I am pregnant and am not sure if this is safe for me to ignore this issue. I have asked the plant and they said its safe, smells from blending like gear oil gases and stuff. and they said there have been many pregnant women who have worked here in the past and have had no problems. I am not sure if this answer is enough for me as my system might not be the same as everybody else. I am not sure what should I do please help
