Child with a bad cough

My 5 yr old daughter has had a bad cough for days now. SHe also has asthma. I took her to her ped 2 days ago to have her checked out. Her ped said she didn't hear wheezing, but she did hear some crackling. SHe then had a WBC test done to check her white blood count. That came back normal. SHe has no fever and is eating and acting fine. Her ped did not prescrible antibiotics because she feels it's viral.

It's been a couple of days and the cough doesn't seem any better? She is still acting fine...no fever...etc? I'm wondering if I should keep her home from preschool and out of her activities?
