Scientists think they have figured out a secret longevity. It is as simple as your mother’s age when she gave birth to you and your siblings. Analyzing data from the lives of 200 centenarians, researchers realized that children to women under 25 are more likely to live to their 100th birthday. Father’s age wasn’t found to have any influence over the matter.

Previous studies showed that first born children live longer. The last study reveals why this is so. The only reason may lie in the fact that the mother was younger when she had the first child.

More studies are needed to reveal why the mother’s age has such a big role. Some prescribe to it better egg quality, less diseases, better health but further research which of these factors are involved the most.
