I have heard that vitiamin E can have important role in lowering level of blood cholesterol. As I have that problem, I’d like to get few advices about vitamin e enriched diet. What kind of food or supplements are the best sources of this vitiamin? Does it have influence on ldl cholesterol? Can one be overdosed with vitiamin e? Thanks in advance.

Vitamin E is excellent natural antioxidant. It is found in wheat germs, almonds, peanuts, corn oil and whole grains. Daily intake of vitamin E that is recommended to be is 400 IJ. As it is liposoluble vitamin, that value should not be crossed. When it is about cholesterol, vitamin E reduces unwanted LDL and cuts the risk of coronary diseases. One handful of almonds contains approximately 50 percent of recommended daily intake

Vitamin E prevents LDL oxidation. Take 400to 800 IU of a mixed blend daily.

Although it is by no means the only major risk factor, elevated serum (blood) cholesterol is clearly associated with a high risk of heart disease. Most doctors suggest cholesterol levels should stay under 200 mg/dl. As levels fall below 200, the risk of heart disease continues to decline. Many doctors consider cholesterol levels of no more than 180 to be optimal. A low cholesterol level, however, is not a guarantee of good heart health, as some people with low levels do suffer heart attacks.
The approach of optimum cardiovascular health is an added focus on the correction of good and bad cholesterol levels. Policosanol has been shown to reduce LDLs (bad cholesterol) and raise HDLs (good cholesterol). Red Yeast Rice, Guggul, Garlic, Pantothenic Acid, and Soy Isoflavones all help to lower total cholesterol and raise HDLs (good cholesterol). CoQ10, Ester C and Vitamin E are a group of powerful antioxidants that prevent dangerous oxidation of cholesterol and also lower LDLs (bad cholesterol).
