I'm a 23 year old female. For years I have stomach discomfort. Iv'e had x-rays, blood tests, urine tests, stool tests and an endoscopy two years ago. All tests came back negative. The pain ususally occurs after eating but comes and goes throughout the day. Recently since becoming pregnant (8 months now) I have chronic stomach discomfort. I do get heartburn occasionally, pressure in stomach, lots of gas, decrease in appetite (not losing weight though) and just a lingering stomach discomfort above the navel (in the middle). I've seen my specialist and other doctors and they all tell me that it's nothing. I fear that it may be stomach cancer or something. I did have severe nausea in the beginning of my pregnancy but it has calmed down. Should I be concerned???????? PLEASE HELP???????????

Hi- I'm writing you, not to scare you, or anyone else reading this, but to get this possible life saving info out there. I too was someone who suffered throughout my life with stomach problems. My doctors in the past had all treated me symtomaticly. (Never really ran any tests.) I was told that I have peptic ulcers. Was treated, symtoms went away. Later I was told I had GERD. (Reflux) Was treated, symtoms went away. Just over a year ago I was in my 5th month of pregnancy, and had been having my same symtoms. 1. eating made my stomach pain worst. 2. vomiting 3. sever stomach pain to the point of crying and finding no comfortable position to be in. 4. lots of gas, burping. I was told just normal signs of pregnancy, gas, etc. Finally one night my husband took me to the ER b/c I was in sooo much pain. (10 out of a 10) They did an ultrasound the baby was fine, no other signs of a problem. Then was given Morphine twice. And sent home. Within 6 hours, I collapsed, I had a total vasculary collapse. Was rushed back to the hospital, where they saved my life. My baby was not so lucky...

The doctors had no idea what the problem was, 36 hours later they had to preform a very risky surgery just to find out what was going on inside me. At that time all they know was there was a mass in my adbomen. Big surprise! My small intestines had twisted 3 times. And was now dead due to the cut off blood supply. My doctor tried to save as much as possible, but almost all 20+ feet was removed. I have a few inches at the top and a few at the bottom. Giving me a whopping 8 inches. I can no longer meet my nutritional needs by eating. (b/c the small intestines is where you absorb all your nutrients) I'm now on IV feedings for 10 hours a day at night. And my life is forever changed. If this story could help one person from loosing their bowel, it will be worth it. Let me say that this sort of this happening is vary rare. And most times it happens in the first few years of life. (I was 31 when it happened to me)
