Hi, my mother in law was diagnosed with chronic thyroiditis, after many months of complains and searching for the right diagnose from one doctor to another.
Chronic thyroiditis or Hashimoto's disease is a thyroid gland disorder. It is an immune disorder, performed against the thyroid gland. The onset of the disease is slow, and it takes months to detect the condition. Hashimoto's disease is sometimes associated with other endocrine disorders evoking from immune system activity. Symptoms of Chronic thyroiditis are: intolerance to cold, weight gain, easily developed fatigue, constipation, goiter. In this disorder thyroid gland becomes small or atrophic. Skin becomes dry, hair is lost rapidly and menses are heavy and irregular.
