Hi, my child has fifth disease, and therefore he is not going to nursery. Can we take guests in our house, or is better to avoid it, because the illness is communicable?

Since, your child is experiencing symptoms of the disease, it’s not communicable anymore. The disease is contagious only in the incubation period, before the rash appears. Children because of undeveloped immunity toward different pathogens are susceptible to communicable diseases and onsets of chicken pox, fifth disease, measles, mumps or other childhood diseases are not rear in nurseries and schools. Symptoms include high temperature, dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, rash, blisters, swollen organs or alike. It’s better if your child avoid any contact with other children and immune-deficient persons at this time.
