Hi. I would really like to help you but it could be difficult because there is no rule for this.
Some people when get old, keep theirs brain function completely and never experience any
memory loss and some start to feel first symptoms at theirs 50s.
But I know that stroke can cause a number of different memory problems such as
learning and remembering new information, applying information to a new setting and doing something without being reminded or prompted.
The amount of memory loss depends upon how much damage the stroke caused. I believe that your father suffers from some mild form of this condition and I think this can be treated medically and not without the support of the family which could be a crucial in this.
Preventing or treating high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and alcohol abuse can lower the risk of stroke.
