Hi. I have some questions about my father’s health state. I'm pretty worried about him al though he is telling me that it is nothing wrong with him.
You see, he is 58 years old and in a past three years, he has experienced about five or six minor strokes, luckily without any consequence for him. He looks pretty healthy right now.
But lately I have noticed that he started to forget things. One time he forgot to turn off an electric stove and could cause a fire in the house. When I have mentioned this to him, he told me that I'm talking nonsense. I don’t know what to do or how could I help him. Could this be cause by these strokes or it is a common problem of older people?

Hi. I would really like to help you but it could be difficult because there is no rule for this.
Some people when get old, keep theirs brain function completely and never experience any memory loss and some start to feel first symptoms at theirs 50s.
But I know that stroke can cause a number of different memory problems such as learning and remembering new information, applying information to a new setting and doing something without being reminded or prompted.
The amount of memory loss depends upon how much damage the stroke caused. I believe that your father suffers from some mild form of this condition and I think this can be treated medically and not without the support of the family which could be a crucial in this.
Preventing or treating high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and alcohol abuse can lower the risk of stroke.
