Constant vaginal bleeding and brown discharge

I am 17 and have been sexually active since 15. For a while I have been bleeding for months at a time and I have been having brown discharge that smells bad. The problem started to occur when i started using the depo shot but i stopped using it for 6 months and i started the birth control pill instead. the problem stopped while i used the pill but i havent been using it recently and the problem is reoccuring. My partner and i are getting agitated. I schedualed an appointment with my doc but its not for a while. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
