Control of methadose and percoset

I am 24 years old. I have had knees problems since I was 14. A condition called Osteo Condritis Dessacans I think thats how it's spelled. Anyway I began taking pain killers 5 years ago. I started taking vicoden and was still having trouble managing my pain. My doctor refered me to a pain managment specialist who put me on oxycontin 30 mg a day. This was a beast of a problem it didn't work so much as cause me an addiction that spun out of control. I begin taking more and more. Well I was still having signifcant knee pain. And I had had surgery on both knees as well as I begin a job that was extreemly phisical. Don't ask me why. Anyway I changed my doctor and perscriptions from oxycontin to methadose and percoset. At my the height of my medication I was taking 3 10mg methadose and 6 10mg percoset. I had total knee replacements last year after years and years of surgery. I over time worked down to 2 10mg methadose and 2 10mg percoset.
However since my spiriling out of control with my oxycontin my mother has been in control of my medicine. She will give me my doses day by day but at the most three days at a time. I have done some crazy things in my life but I feel like I can finally take control of my medication. I am curious to see if others have felt out of control of thier medicine and if it took others to help them. I feel like I am still a kid and it is messing up my mind. Should I not feel this way?? Should I feel angry at my mother? How do I help her understand what I am feeling?? How do I change my situation?
