Could Hepsera worsen hepatitis if I stop taking it?

I am suffering from hepatitis B for 4 years now. I had unprotected sex and because of that stupidity I have this serious illness. The symptoms occurred with strong pain under the right ribs. For a long time I have been taking Hepsera. Could Hepsera worsen hepatitis if I stop talking it?
