Could LSD trigger schizophrenic symptoms in a person?

Hi, my friend is taking LSD for some time already. I have met him several days ago on the street and he told me that he is experiencing different sorts of illusions and hallucinations every time when he gets LSD. He also asked me if LSD may trigger schizophrenic symptoms.

LSD is strong drug which cause hallucinations and according to it may cause schizophrenic symptoms. Also LSD may provoke some mental diseases which may underlie in some people. It would be the best to see his doctor and told him about problems he is experiencing and he will suggest him the best solution.
