Hi! My mum is diabetic. Also now she has many symptoms of diabetic nephropathy. We didn’t sure yet about this, we are waiting for results of analyses. I’m worry a lot because I heard that it can be the cause of some other disorders in body. Could arrhythmia or other heart diseases be caused by diabetic nephropathy?

Well, you probably know that, unfortunately, diabetes increases a risk for heart disease and stroke. It’s often associated with other cardiovascular risk factors, such as high blood pressure, cholesterol disorders or insulin resistance. I think that people with diabetic nephropathy have more chance to get serious problems with arrhythmia. Your mother needs to control high blood pressure frequently and often consult with your cardiologist.
