After the menopause, my mother has started showing signs of depression. She cried a lot, lost weight and had sleeping problems. Doctor diagnosed her with depression but since the symptoms did not go away we went to doctor again and he said that it might be a first stage of Alzheimer’s disease. Could cognitive behavior therapy be helpful?

Well, Alzheimer’s disease really is a serious condition. There is no cure that can deal with this condition effectively, only the progression might be slowed down. You should also know that cognitive behavior therapy might help with depression only in the beginning of Alzheimer’s disease. After a while, she must rely on medications.
