Hi! Please, can somebody explain to me something? My dad has a enlarged prostate. I know that people with enlarged prostate have a big chance to get bladder infections. But I didn't know that they usually suffer from bladder stones attacks. Could enlarged prostate lead to bladder stone formation? Why? Thanks!
Yes, unfortunately, all prostate problems, if allowed to progress, can lead to bladder stones or kidney damage. An enlarging prostate gradually obstructs the flow of urine and in time prevents the bladder from emptying completely. When urine is held in bladder, it gets concentrated and can become infected. That can lead to stone formation.
