Could my peripheral neuropathy have rosed from diabetis?

I’m diabetic since my teenage hood. Recently I started to feel strange numbness and tingling in my feet and hands. My doctor told me that it’s probably first signs of peripheral neuropathy. He prescribed to me some painkillers and now I feel better. Could my peripheral neuropathy have rosed from diabetis?

Unfortunately, yes. Diabetes is one of the most common causes of peripheral neuropathy. I’m also diabetic for many years and I started to notice first signs of neuropathy. I read somewhere that at least half of all people with diabetes develop some type of neuropathy. Try to get good treatment, eat healthy food and take B-12 supplements.
