Could pulmonary heart disease run in the family?

I am 53 years old and I have been experiencing some hear issues lately. Actually, it started like some minor lung problems (viral infection and coughing) but the doctor told me that situation is far from benign. It looks like I have pulmonary heart disease and I am just waiting for the results of the final test for the diagnose to be confirmed. I would like to know if pulmonary heart disease could run in the family.

Pulmonary heart disease could be often caused by hereditary heart anomaly which happens in the valvula of the pulmonary artery and as a result of the damaged form of valvula, heart cannot work properly and that leads to increased blood flow to lings. Lungs cannot function normally and the symptoms you have mentioned happen. It is treated by an operation.
