Recently I have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I started with Avonex last week and I had a problem. I have experienced tacchycardia two hours after the first injection. My heart rate was 130 bpm for about three hours. Is it a common side effect of Avonex? Could tacchycardia be related to using Avonex?

It can be. I’m taking Avonex for more then a year and I have never have any serious side effect. But I heard that a lot of people have really big problems with it. My friend once had tachycardia also right after his second usage of Avonex. If you have tachycardia next time, it’s better to consult with your doctor.
