Could this be Menapause or is it my thyroid?

Hi, I am 54 years old female and in the last few months I don't feel well. I am very often in the bad mood, I may even say that I am depressive. Also I feel tired, slow and without initiative. I gained few extra pounds too. I have told my very good friend and she told me that it may be hypothyroiditis. I thought it is menopause but now I am pretty worried.

Hi, sometimes symptoms like tiredness, depression and bad mood may be very confusing. All these symptoms may appear in many different disorders because they are not specific. If you have any doubts what may be the reason for such symptoms you would visit your doctor and make analysis of your hormonal status. It is the only way to be sure what is going on.
