I just started cymbalta about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had cramping, but my period has not started yet apart from light brown spotting plus stomach cramps, so I saw my OBGYN. After testing for pregnancy, bacterial and yeast infections (plus a physical exam) everything came back perfectly normal. She believes that either it's the stress of beginning the medication and/or that the medication is interfering with my hormones. She said that it doesn't interfere with the efficacy of birth control (you aren't more likely to get pregnant) but it can effect other things like your cycle. I have to wait another month to see if it occurs again, in which case we will adjust my medications. I have seen people asking if cymbalta affects a pregnancy test, that's a big NO! If you have a positive it's most likely that you ARE pregnant and need to see your doctor ASAP. If you miss a second period, make sure to take another pregnancy test and see your doctor to make sure that everything is ok. According to my doctor, everything is perfectly fine it's probably just the stress/medication but it's important to have open communication with your doctor about any concerns like these.

yes yes yes,,, i have been taking cymbalta for about 3 years now and every time i stop or take a break from it i get messed up periods. Ovulation Bleeding always happens to me when i stop..3 periods in a month..but i know now that it is the drug that causes it.
Cymbalta has been a wonder drug for my anxiety and depression. in the past i would stop treatments of other meds beause of the nasty creepy and embarrassing side effects, but this one makes me a very "normal" feeling woman.
I have stopped it once again in attempt to get pregnant, and just the anxiety i am having about losing control is really affecting me. Not to mention that nasty Dropping sensation i get from withdrawl...but we wil see if it all works out.

Hmmm... I agree with you on the yes, yes, and yes.... Cymbalta has been a life saver for me... The first time I took it (around three years ago, I had never felt better in my whole life)... I just recently got back on it after being off for two years (two years of hell) and I am back to feeling great again.... (better than I have felt in over two years).... I am late starting my period... (about 5-6 days) but I have had some spotting and old looking blood the last couple of days. I really want a baby, but all this talk about having miscarriages on the medicine is discouraging. I am almost 32 and have never been pregnant. I don't want to stop the Cymbalta because I finally feel good again, but I want a baby too... : (
