to be honest.. i dunno? BUT I just had a friend find out she was 3 months along and she'd been taking cymbalta.. some tests came out neg. some pos. and some inconclusive. if you think your pregnant.. see a dr.. cymbalta isn't supposed to be taken by pregnant women without a dr.s supervision! best of luck!!

Hello Just beginning to come out of a bir burn out. Female, 32 years old.

I was reading up on here as to whether women can get losss of mentruation after taking cymbalta? The problem I have is that my periods started to get irregular over a year ago when I first started with stress. But since taking cymbalta I noticed both good and bad effects on my body.

firstly incredible pain relief in my neck and back and shoulders. Better than anything taken before. Loss of appetite leading to rapid weight loss - 5 kilos in a month. Though I am still sick, I feel like I am on the road to recovery after a year! But, problem is my last 2 periods have been ultra light. Just 1/2 a day and hardly any blood.

The accompanying hot and cold flushes made me wonder if I was in fact starting to reach an early menopause. It was so incredibly noticeable.

Does anyone else experience loss of menstruation whilst on cymbalta? My doctor had warned me that the opposite might happen!

Thanks!
MB

I started cymbalta about a month ago, and my period hasn't started yet--It was supposed to start a week ago. I don't know if I'm pregnant, but I guess I'm going to have to see a doctor in case the (HPT) Home Preg. tests aren't accurate on cymbalta. A few days ago I started feeling really nausiated here and there throuout the day. I am so nervouse to be on a drug like this if I am pregnant. I know someone who was on a drug for ADD and her doctor said it wouldn't affect the baby one bit. When she had the baby it was deformed. That's why I'm really nervous to even take the drug tonight... unless cymbalta's just messing up my cycle. ??

I started on Cymbalta for PMS symptoms and anxiety about 6 weeks ago. I think it is helping with both symptoms and I feel more normal on Cymbalta than on Prozac. I noticed that I was spotting during ovulation and then 2 weeks later I had some bloting and I should have gotten my period but I am now 7 days late. I have had a tubal ligation and I doubt I am pregnant. I suspect Cymbalt has messed up my cycle. Anyone have similar symptoms to report.

Hello - I am a 43 yo. You are not the only one who did not get their period....also, I experienced an incredibly painful neck. First, I attributed this to "sleeping wrong" but it lasted for over 2 weeks! Hot flashes - same with me. The medicine helps for a few months, then the scenario can change. Be cautious...

I was a week late after my first month on Cymbalta and 3 HPTs showed no pregnancy. My insurance wouldn't approve the drug, so rheumatologist changed my medication and 36 hours after I stopped the 60mg Cymbalta, my period started - and hasn't stopped. That was 13 days ago! The Dr. says it's not related and it's questionable because I'm 47, but REALLY??!!!!

Smile

I am 43 years old, and I have been taking 30 mg of Cymbalta for anxiety for several months now. I started with 20 mg, which didn't do much at all for my anxiety, so my doctor increased the dosage to 30 mg. I loved the initial decrease in appetite and resulting weight loss! But I also noticed itching and a skin rash on my torso and legs. My first period while on the drug was lighter than normal, but same length (1 wk.); my second period was lighter and shorter (4 days); my period was due to start a week ago and hasn't. I stopped the Cymbalta about five days ago, and my period still hasn't started. Meanwhile, I have the worst case of acne I've ever had! My appetite has returned (in a big way!), although I am slightly nauseous. I'm light-headed and "woozy", especially in the evenings. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms?

I am 11 days late for my period and have taken 3 hpts, all negative. After talking to the dr, Cymbalta can affect your cycle in a big way. Scary! I have to go today for a blood test to make sure I am not pregnant because Cymbalta has been found to show heart defects!
