I have one quick question: does spinal cyst always develop with spinal cord injured patients after surgery? I have case in family, so I would like to know what statistics with this are.

Hi there, I a medicine student, so I asked my professor about this a nd here is what he said:” A quarter of spinal cord injured patients will develop an enlarging spinal cord cyst between 2 months and 30 years after their initial injury. These spinal cord cysts can cause progressive weakness and numbness, but current treatments improve less than half of patients so affected. “I hope this helps. Take care
