i have had the same thing - like numbness/pressure in my head and face and i recently went through numerous test thinking it was my neck head whatever. and they all came back ok. but recently in the past two weeks this weird pressure in my face and head drives me nuts and sometimes pressure in my ears and dizziness so my doc recommends an xray of my face and says i have an acute sinus infection on top of nasal polyps. so he prescribed prednisone, antibiotics and a decongestant. it has only been 6 days and it seems to be better than it was but is not completely gone. i do however have issues with tightness in my neck- has anyone else tried antibiotics and such and it has helped some?

im so glad i read the posts from all of u!

I have been experiencing symptoms like you are all describing for about 5 1/2 years now! I havnt had many headaches but maybe 3 times a year they last for 3-4 days... Have been diagnosed with Anaemia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which makes sense according to the symptoms but it doesnt explain the floating, spaced out feeling in my head that just wont go away! I feel likemy doctor thinks im crazy! lol. It feels like i could be dreaming most of the time which upsets me at times like graduation and my 21st coz it feel as though it coulda been a dream (i know that it DID happen but thinsg dont seem as 'bright' or 'vibrant' as they were wen i was younger. started having symptoms just before my 18th birthday and was firstly diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome - dont know if any of u ladies have that?? i dont think its related but its wortha mentioN!

im glad that all of your MRI scans etc came back negative, makes me worry less that its something real bad!

oh, one thing that did help with the pressure in my ears - ear candles! i get them in a health shop and theyre £7 for a set. It didnt 'cure' me but after doing it twice i felt alot more 'real' again:) there wasnt that much wax that came out but this beige powdery substance that i have no idea what it is - sorry be graphic lol but let me know if any of u try it and if u have the same results!

im definatly going to have an eye test - i am determind to get to the bottom of this and feel like my feet are on the ground again!

Good luck to all of u who feel the same - i feel for you, remember ur not crazy and to still live each day to the fullest!!

OMG I cannot believe that all you guys have the same symptoms as me! I had a major prolapsed disc 2 years ago and lost the use of my left leg due to nerve damage. I was advised not to have an operation to remove the disc and it remains somewhere near my spine. I have struggled over the last year to get back to some kind of normality but have started to get these intense pressure pains in my head. I was advised that they are due to my lower back injury....referred pain!!! they are not.. I have managed the pain of my back injury..this is different. It started nearly a month ago with a chronic dizzy spell that lasted no more than 3 or 4 seconds when i was sat still, but since then it has all gone pear shaped. Dizzy feeling, nausea, heavy eyelids to the point I couldnt keep them open. This was in the first week. That subsided slightly and now i have a couple more floaters than i had before... I feel like my head is going to explode... I have a constant hissing and ringing in my head but more in my left ear. The pressure behind my eyes has reduced but is still there. More so on the left side... I have a feeling of blocked sinuses at the back of my nose and throat. Initially I had a trickle down the back of my throat and occasionally from my right nostril but that has subsided into the 3rd week but the intense pressure and ringing in ears has not...worse at night. A previous post mentioned tightness in chest, I experienced that for all of the 2nd week but thankfully it has now subsided. I also feel like i am somewhere else for most of the time, spaced out...very weird feeling, inability to focus on all things that i look at. My GP advised that it was viral and told me to rest, I did and it got worse, I went back and they said try Sudafed... I have and it hasnt touched it. I am naggy, tired and physically and mentally drained with total lack of concentration after 3 weeks going into my 4th. I have visited and optician who has tested me thoroughly and all is well... I assume the next stage for me is the scans??? Mad that we all have the same symptoms in one way or another.

I started having head pressure about a month ago after stopping caffiene. I have a history of migraines but not with the head pressure. Assumed it was caffeine withdrawl. When symptoms continued saw my GP. She gave me a z-pack for sinuses and a migraine med. It seemed to help, but then the pressure returned. I don't really have a headache with it, just the pressure. It's making me crazy trying to figure out what it is. I see my ob-gyn on friday as I did have cysts on my ovaries, so the post about polycystic ovarian syndrome was interesting. I also take a rheumatoid arthritis drug and am wondering about swollen optic nerves so I'll also see my opthamologists. I also have some sinus issues and use a nasal spray. I felt this way one other time and I was taking an over the counter sinus stuff and it raised my blood pressure, as soon as I quit taking it it went away.

I had head pressure starting in Oct. 07. It also involved ringing in ears to the point I could not concentrate, constant pressure in my nose and cheeks, pressure in back of head, sides, and front. I started experiencing dizziness in Nov. 07. I became afraid to drive my daughter anywhere because of the dizzy spells. I lost my appetite. I could only sleep if I took Ambien. I will make a long journey short. I had CT scans, numerous visits to ENTs and neurologists, MRI, lumbar puncture, and even had surgery scheduled for a deviated septum- although I never felt that was the cause of my problem. My family life suffered as well as my social life. I also missed weeks of work. In Feb. 08 I got to see an ENT/ Neurologist who specialized in dizziness. He ordered numerous hearing/dizziness tests. The tests all came back negative. By this time I had started to have painful headaches with the pressure on a daily basis which I had tried to treat with Tylenol but knew I could not go on taking Tylenol daily and besides it rarely helped. He prescibed Elavil. It is a drug that has been around for many years. He explained that it had been used to treat depression originally but had been found to help migraine headaches and - although there is no data to support this- some have reported that it helps the ringing in ears. I was prescribed 25 mg. to be taken at bedtime. I immediately had no pain the next day. The pressure did develop later the next day but after about 4 days I noticed I had a day with no pressure at all. When I had a follow up visit to the neurologist, he suggested I take 2 at bedtime since I was still feeling some pressure on occasion. I now take 2 nightly and am so very thankful to have finally found someone to help. I was feeling distraught in thinking this was something I was going to have to find a way to live with. I hope this is helpful to others who are experiencing this problem.

HI,
I have these symptoms and it is driving me nuts
I also have kids and i want to be there for them.
I am really sad because no one has found a solution for me and i was very surpised to see that ia m not the only one who has this thing.
Because after seeing many doctors and going back and forth to the ER and they found nothing i finally have something .
I went thru the Scan the XRays for my sinus and head and for my neck as well, and they put me on antiinflamatory and antibiotics for one year.
I am going to try the Migrain Medications and see what happens after.
I want to thank you and thank GOd for you guys
I have finnaly found the answers to my question

Hello fellow sufferers,
This feeling is scary, I know.
I've had a constant pressure in my head 24/ 7 for 1 year now. It doesn't hurt but it sure messes with my anxiety levels.
Mine began suddenly after working out in the gym. I came out of a sauna and plunge pool (cold water) and felt a sudden sense of pressure in my head!
I too have had all the big tests - seen neurologists, opthamologists, ENT's and the best they can say is I might be suffering from a migraine condition.
It's hard to describe this feeling to others, but many of you on this board have done a pretty good job. The thruth is that dizziness and these symptoms are quite common and it's VERY hard to diagnose.
I find that my eyesight is also affected by this fullness and presure in my head and in low light I feel less affected. I also find that exercise helps lift your spirits if you can manage it - even if its only walking somewhere.
This condition still frightens the hell out of me, but stick with it and know that there are other sufferers out there living there lives and getting on.
