I, too, am having the same symptoms, but with ringing in my ears. I have Multiple Sclerosis and take Capaxone. I also take Wellbutrin, Zoloft and Hydrochloriothizide(not sure of the spelling, but for blood pressure). What does the ringing mean if I have that along with the other symptoms?

Hi all

For what its worth here is a list of my symptoms:

1) headaches
2) migraine (between the headaches and migraines around 12 15 days per month...resulting in my losing 12 pounds)
3) sensation of heaviness...or maybe swelling in specific spot in head (if you could intersect two lines, one from the left temple the other from the left eye the heaviness is right there)
4) feeling lightheaded (almost like helium is being pumped into my head)
5) spaced out
6) ears plugged (sometimes they pop...some tinnitus...but mostly just muffled hearing)
7) sore left ear (deep)
8) blurred vision (sometimes double vision)
9) sore left jaw
10) sore eyes (feel like they are being pulled on ...deep pain and stretching sensation)
11) tired
12) anxious
13) odd muscle pains
14) stiff sore neck
15) dizzy (making balance feel off)
16) areas at the base of my skull that are so sore that when I press on them I feel as if I will vomit)
17) sore scalp

I'm sorry you all have many of these symptoms (and more) but it is comforting to know I am not alone!

I am so tired of all of this and really fed up with going to bed every night hoping things will get better and getting up every day feeling like hell. I have spent a fair amount of time on the internet trying to figure out what's wrong. Here are some possibilities I have been thinking about:

1) TMJ problems
2) fibromyalgia (any other autoimmune disorders?)
3) increased intracranial pressure (maybe due to false tumor...or something else)
4) Lyme disease
5) symptoms related to a closed head injury (post-concussion syndrome) I had a significant concussion last year and although I was ok 2 months after I have only been unwell for the last 3 months again. This was the third closed head injury over the course of my lifetime...
6) anxiety (I doubt it but ...)
7) inner ear infection
8) MS
9) exposure to heavy metals (used to work with lead and solder)
10) inflammation of cranial nerves (maybe related to a virus)
11) neck injury (numerous car accidents over the years)
12) tumor
13) some exotic form of migraine
14) some sort of blockage of the blood supply to the brain
15) minor stroke

I'm sure there are a million other things but it's a starting point. Thanks for letting me vent.

My husband has had some of the same symtoms. He is 55. They can still give him no answers after 1 year. He previously had frequent headaches but only on Nexium for acid reflux and is a smoker with the cough. Not overwieght and relatively active. He got vertigo a year ago. He went to his regular Dr. who did nothing and sent him home and told him to come back in 2 weeks if he was not better He wasn't so he went back, but the headaches have stopped and he doesn't cough.. He then ordered a MRI and had him checked for a stroke. Everything was fine except his cholestrol is high. 355. He still was no better. So we found a ENT on our own. He treated him for vertigo and he got a little better but the pressure then started building in his head until in Jan. he lost it. Ended up in the ER. Of course they think he is on something or coming off and pump him full of drugs. They never checked for a stroke even though he says his right hand is numb. They keep him overnight and send him home drugged up. His Dr. runs every test in the world and he see 3 neurologists, a harmone Dr. and a couple of others. They end up saying he is stressed, has a chemical imbalance and is basically nuts. They put him on xanax and a another drug at night. By May he can only walk across the floor assisted and he sleeps 18 hours of the day and weighs 124 lbs. Finally a relative suggested taking him off Nexium and she gave him a natural alternative so he wouldn't be sick and taking him off the drug at night. Within 36 hours he could walk on his own again. He went back to his Dr. and they did more blood work. In 30 days after coming off the Nexium his cholestrol dropped to 243. He started going to a naturpath the end of June. He helped him a lot. He was able to go back to work in July but the pressure in the head has never let up and he cannot function at all without the xanax. The xanax does not stop the pressure but makes it tolerable. There are days that are worse then others like the xanax is not working at all. Any ideas on what could be happening to him. He has only gained back 4 lbs but his cholestrol has continued to drop. It is now down to 221. The hand is still giving him problems. They say it is a pinched nerve and unrelated to the head thing even though it started at the same time. So they are going to do surgery on the nerve in the elbow for his hand. He needs an answer. This head pressure is driving him nuts.

Why neurological doctors don’t tell cardiology doctors that they treat HBP (high blood pressure) patients in wrong way. How? Because of their way of cure, neurology doctors have to take care after complication of HBP occur (intracerebral hemorrhage) . Its too important when doctor give medication to treat Blood Hypertension to tell patients that this medication don’t mean that the danger of blood hypertension is behind you all time you take this medication!, but you must know that due to different reasons one day this medication can be not sufficient for you, but you must to take bigger dose or un additional anti HT medication. What is the symptom that you will never ignore it to keep you away from danger? Is headaches and in specially nocturnal headaches. Don’t take any antialgic drugs to get rid of headaches until you take the measure of blood pressure. All HBP patients must know that approximately all cerebral vascular accidents due to high BP in sleeping time, because sleep position make BP in brain bigger than in standing position. So he must know that nocturnal headaches caused by HBP is very useful for him and its un alarm system to keep him away from danger. Its too dangerous when doctor who treat HBP patients to not tell patients about the important of nocturnal headaches that occur when HBP became in very high value. So he must tell patients that he must verify his BP before taken any antialgic medication, because if he take antialgic medication in case of headache caused by very high BP value that mean very high risk to occur un intracerebral hemorrhage while he sleeping.

HBP patients must ask his doctor who give him his anti HBP medication this question: 1- If I take this medication does that mean that HBP danger became behind me? His answer will be No, due to variant factors your BP can raise even if you take your medication.. 2- Does nocturnal headaches can indicate very HBP? His answer will be yes, when blood pressure raise in more than 90% of BP patients will have a very sever headaches. 3- In this case isn’t very wrong to take antialgic medication to get rid of headaches and go back to sleep. His answer will be yes, because patients must take un additional anti HBP medication to make his BP go low and keep away from HBP danger at the same time he will get rid of this headaches. 4-Why you didn’t tell me about this dangerous situation and giving me this additional medication? No answer!

i'm so glad i read this! have been experiencing this pressure feeling on my head for a few months now ... in the beginning i would have ringing in my ears every so often but it's 24/7 now. but luckily it's not so bad, i can only hear it at night and when i wake up, basically when it's quiet around me.

the pressure started about 2 weeks before i went through a series of panic attacks which lasted for about 2-3 months (caused by cannabis use). i went to see the doctor before the panic attacks started and the doctor said it was probably due to anxiety. anyway, the panic attacks have stopped now but the head pressure is still there. so is the high pitched nose in my ears (mostly the right one).

the pressure points change all the time and are usually in the middle of my head, although are sometimes on the right but never on the left. the ringing is also in my right ear. maybe this is an ear problem? i will go and see the doctor in a few days when i get back to uni.

before i read this post i was worrying i had a brain tumor! but everyone else seems to be ok judging from the ct and mri scans, so this has made me feel much, much better.
thank you!

Crying or Very sad I have had this head pressure all over my head and in my face for about one month. I feel pressure in my ears as well. The initial thoughts of the MD was that I had sinusitis. After three weeks of antibiotic therapy, nasal steroids, and an antihistamine, still pressure. An occasional headache, but mostly pressure. I feel like my head is going to blow off! I feel like a bobble head doll, I can't hold my head up. I am also having some visual disturbances, some floating glitter and "dizzy"eyes. I had a CT scan of my sinuses and it was fine. I get very dizzy a lot too. I need help!! Any advice would be helpful. I am a nurse and I am racking my brain with illnesses and diseases.

I too have this head pressure. It started just a few days ago I took a bite into a jumbo piece of bubble gum that shot a shooting pain in my tooth, then all of a sudden my ear clogged up and I don't know why but it put me through panic mode. I got real shaky and dizzy but after a few minutes I calmed down and the ear pressure went away. Now I get sudden pressure in the ear that leads to head pressure and it slowly tampers off. I went in to the Dr. and he visually couldn't see anything to be concerned about and sent me home with claritin and psuedophedrine (?spelling). Well I have been taking the psuedo. for the last couple days and it's not getting any better. Every episode send me in panic mode and I get really dizzy, feels like the room is spinning. I finally broke down and took a xanax and it helped cut out the dizziness and the panic but the pressure is still coming and going. It's really bothering me. Any advice?
