I'm 30yrs old - My last 2 periods were only a couple days of a dark discharge and on time. I have had this happen every once in a while but usually I have regular periods in between them. I had a pap after the first period that this happened and my Dr said everything should be fine but since it was just a few days and not much discharge to take a pregnancy test. I did, and it was negative. Now I had only 2 days of a dark discharge and it wasn't much at all, barely enough for a panty liner. Should I check back with my Dr? By the way my pap came back normal, and I have had abnormal ones in the past.
You could also wait for another cycle and see what happens. Since you pap is clear there isn’t much you should be worried and it is said that if something strange occurs with a woman’s cycle that she should wait for three menstrual cycles to pass. If the same thing happens in all three cycles, then a woman should see gynecologist.
If the “disorder” doesn’t persist for three cycles, it could be just something transient that doctors wouldn’t even be able to determine and you would have to undergo numerous tests for no apparent reason.
This is at least what I have been told by my gyn. You didn’t say anything about birth control pills, so I suppose you are not using them, but I will mention that starting and stopping bc pills usually lead to these kinds of symptoms.
