What is a Delayed degeneration syndrome? My wife has a breast cancer and she will have to undergo both surgery and chemo therapies afterwards. And it seems that at this point, I am not sure which is worse, the cancer or the side effects that might affect her while in chemo. And that can also happen some time after the chemo, in a delayed degeneration syndrome. Am I right?

Well, you are referring to the chemo brain and unfortunately that is something that might happen, sometimes during the therapy and sometimes after that. And I should mention memory loss and cognitive issues as some of the more dangerous symptoms. On the other hand, the patient in those moments does not have any malign tumor cell left in his body, condition that might ended his life.
