Hi, I am 32 years old female and I am planning with my husband to have a baby soon. Unfortunately I am suffering from epilepsy and I am taking medication called Depakote for some time already. I would like to know if Depakote is dangerous for my baby. Thank you very much.

Hi, there are not direct evidences that Depakote caused any damages on babies but also some abnormalities showed up in women who were taking more than one medicine for seizures in the first three months of their pregnancy. I would suggest you to see your doctor and talk to him.
