Hi everyone, I've been haunting the forums for awhile now. I am 14 weeks 4 days pregnant with my 7th pregnancy (4 Miscarriages, 2 beautiful daughters). I have been engaged for 13 months (we had to move the wedding date because of the baby), and moved to a new state for a job (which made my fiancee' quit his because it couldn't transfer to the new state). The new state we live in has one of the worst in the USA for unemployment and 2 more employers are laying off another 150,000 people in a tri-county area.
I just had surgery on the 17th of February to remove an ovarian tumor (the actual right ovary) which was the size of a honeydue melon and which had twisted upon itself. I was supposed to be off work 6-8 weeks for recovery and bedrest. However, after finding out my company's Short Term Disability does not offer payment because I wasn't with the company long enough (It only guarantee's my position and health insurance), I am considering returning to work on Monday because of the financial strain on my family.
Does anyone else have any other advice on coping with the depression, on finding more resources in my community, or anything? I live in Michigan. I'm really considering that returning two work might be my only option but I'm worried about the effect it could have on my recovery and my baby. |
