Hi, I am 21 and I need advice from you before going to my doctor or gynecologist. Most of my friends are taking contraceptive pill, mainly Desogestrel / Ethinyl Estradiol and I was wondering could I take it too. I would like to take care of things, not to depend on man. Is Desogestrel / Ethinyl Estradiol effective against unwanted pregnancy?
Desogestrel / Ethinyl Estradiol are tablets used as prevention of pregnancy. Besides that sometimes it can be used for treatment of hypermenorrhea, dysmenorrheal or dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Tablets contain 21 white tablets, 2 green tablets and 5 yellow tablets for every day of cycle. Mechanism of action is inhibition of ovulation and highly effective contraception.
