Posted: 04/09/07 - 17:40 Post subject: Diabetes, PCOS and Thyroid |
|

| I have been diganosed with Diabetes and PCOS. However, when I have been tested for Thyroid problems in the past, everything comes up normal. I was last tested for a Thyroid problem 9 months ago when I was pregnant. This included an ultrasound scan and blood tests. All Clear. Now I am having severe problems such as confusion, bad headaches, balance problems, slurred speach, forgetfulness, hot & cold flashes, feet & heel pain, heart rate of 125-130 BPM, Neck and upper back pain, feeling afraid of everything, and lots of nausea. I went to the hospital and had a Cat scan that was clear. They tried to do a lumbar puncture but it was too painful. I have followed up with my primary Dr. and I am having more blood tests. If my tests are clear again my Dr. wants to start me on anxiety meds. I really think that it is thyroid related. Are there any tests I can request to get a better result of a thyroid condition? I really need an answer to all this pain and discomfort. |

I am going through the exact same thing right now. I have PCOS and Diabetes type 2. And I have same symptoms and think I have a prob with my thyroid. I had some tests done and went to hosp.. I am waiting for the results.
Also did your doc give you a urine test? Sometimes these symptoms are because of a Bladder Infection ( I know it sounds nuts, I thought so too, but a bladder infection can create a lot of pain and problems that sometimes mimic another prob.) Maybe that might be something you should ask for. (You know to narrow down the possibilities).
Take care, and if you find out what is wrong, come back and post... so I can know . haha. |

When I'm reading your post as if I'm reading my own story. I experienced the same. I always have headache... i mean always, nausea and also i was diagnosed to have diabetes type 2 and PCOS. OMG! it's a relief for me that I can have someone to talk to about this.
brendalynn628, you made me feel hopeful that I can still have a baby afterall these conditions and diagnosis. |
