I need to go to angioplasty next Wednesday. I’m little afraid but everybody told me that it’s nothing too complicated. But my friend told me that I should worry about thrombosis. Do I really need to worry about that? Is it possible to be diagnosed with late thrombosis after having drug-eluting stent implanted?

Unfortunately, late stent thrombosis is possible complication after angioplasty. It’s very rare but it’s very dangerous. But I can tell you that you don’t need to worry because you will take certain medications to prevent thrombosis. If you will have drug-eluting stent implanted, you will need to use anti-clotting medications for at least six months.
