My father has just returned from the cardiologist. His doctor sent him there to do EKG, after he examined him. He is 67 years old and in past few months has been complaining on chest pain (he has been describing it as stabbing). Cardiologist said that there is possibility that my father is suffering from myocarditis – thy know it after additional tests. What can you tell me of this myocarditis?
It is a condition most accurately described as inflammation of heart muscle – myocardium. Most often this happens because of the viral or bacterial infection. Also, in fewer cases, it can emerge because of immunological problems and toxic substances. Bacterial infections are dealt with by using antibiotics. As for viral type, we can only try to remove the symptoms, nothing more.
