Diagnosing Munchausen syndrome

I would like to know a bit more about diagnosing Munchausen syndrome. I mean what if someone really has some disorder but have been mistakenly marked as MS patient. I mean, how can you tell the difference. I ask this because there is a big discussion about our friend’s brother who supposedly has this illness.

It is actually quite easy. People that have this syndrome feel more comfortable in the hospitals, surrounded with care and attention and sometimes they would even hurt themselves, in order to get there. And of course, they are mentioning conditions and illnesses but since there are no symptoms, it is obvious they are making it up.
