Hi. Diagnosis of CFS is complicated because fatigue is the single reported complaint, and CFS has the same symptoms as many other conditions. Once you have “clear” symptoms, you must run through some tests. First, you doctor must rule out all similar diseases (MS, SLE). You have some novel and conventional lab tests, complete blood cound, urinalysis, ESR, and optional test – ANA, thyroid and adrenal tests and lyme titers and HIV serology. You also have some specific test that support a diagnosis of CFS, such as tests for viral infections, immune system tests and exercise testing.
