Posted: 07/09/07 - 20:12 Post subject: Diarrhea, clear seepage (2 months +) |
|
|
I am male, 26 years old, overweight (but was actually losing weight when these problems arose) and have had a history of hemorrhoids since I was in high school. I have had unusual amounts of mucus in my stool, as well, but that was reducing prior to these symptoms since I was getting more excersize and improving my diet.
For about 2 months now I have had a clear, odorless seepage from my anus. At first I thought it was just sweat from summer coming around but I have on several occasions noticed that it seems to come before a bowel movement. It sometimes leaks right through my underwear to my pants in a very short amount of time. Again, no idea what this liquid is since most seepage I've read about is obviously fecal. No signs of blood in my stool.
About a month after my first symptoms occurred I came down with horrible diarrhea. It was quite bloody and painful but only on the paper - I don't think it is internal bleeding but irritation from the diarrhea. 2 weeks into it, although uninsured, I went to doctors and have been trying to (unsuccessfully) get help since. I have been put up two different antibiotics - xifaxan and flagyl. Xifaxan didn't seem to help at all, the problems seemed to lighten up during my 10 days on flagyl but 24 hours after being being off flagyl the diarrhea immediately returned and the anal seepage kicked right back in as bad as it's ever been. Correlation or coincidence, I don't know. The entire time I've been having frequent (5+ times a day) loose bowel movements when not experiencing diarrhea. I did test positive on a blood test for a virus but that was WEEKS ago now, and I have been on almost 2 weeks of antibiotics since. My GI specialist found no fissures, just some bad internal hemorrhoids. Coffee and alcohol seem to badly bring about the liquid seepage, as does working out.
I've found a couple of posts on the internet with people describing this problem occurring for over 2 years and I'm getting very anxious and depressed over the loss of quality of life here. I am, frankly, often too depressed and embarrassed to leave the house out of fear of diarrhea or the sweaty/puss/mucus/whatever leakage.
I've talked to countless nurses, a general practitioner, and 2 specialists at this point and no one seems to know what's going on and I'm getting pretty desperate... |
