Did I develop allergy to sutures?

I cut my hand badly three days ago. I have sutures that are annoying me constantly. I really feel discomfort at the place of cut. Did I develop allergy to sutures? I have heard that it was not uncommon to happen.

Itching and discomfort may be due to healing of the wound. And, of course, allergy to sutures is not uncommon at all. Steroid creams should help it, but steroid affect healing of wounds and slow the process. Do you have allergy symptoms like numbness and swelling?
