Diet for a border-line diabetic?

I guess I should consider myself lucky for not being a full diabetic patient. For now, I am on the border line between being healthy and being sick. So, can you tell me some idea for a diet for a border line diabetic? I just hope I will be able to loose some weight and get away from that illness.

The best thing you can do is ask your doctor for an advice. I mean, it is not only the calories; there is an entire world of diets that deal with the problems of sick people. So, you shouldn't try anything on your own, it is much safer to take nutritionist's advice. Well, I would do that, at least.
