None of the beverages are good to take. The difference is that Diet soda doesn’t contain sugar but artificial sweetener that has been linked to cancer risk, loss of hair and all sorts of other side effects. When I read this, I stopped drinking sodas. Diet sodas are marketed at those who are health conscious and many people think that they would lose weight if they drink diet sodas instead of regular ones but this is so wrong and many studies have shown it. I will only mention birth defects being linked to Aspartame and will not mention “fibromyalgia, spasms, shooting pains, numbness of the legs, cramps, vertigo, seizures, dizziness, headaches, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), joint pain, depression, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision and memory loss” that were also linked to Aspartame intake. I am sure that you have heard about dietary pyramid that contains foods that we should eat a lot and foods that we should eat the least. Well, sodas are on the top of the pyramid with foods we should use little or even better avoid together with sweats, white bread, pasta and white rise.

MC is correct, Diet soda and beverages laced with artificial sweetners should be avoided at all costs. Aspartame is very dangerous and is linked to many diseases and illnesses as mentioned. Our bodies were not designed to eat/drink artificial products. Think back to the cave man days where the only items available to man were the foods nature provided. Unfortunately, in an industrial age and man has interfered with our food chain, many "additives" are put in our food to make us fatter, crave more of this food to keep us buying it and to make us sick so we have to go on prescription medications. Its a vicious cycle. Stick to filtered water and remember everything you drink is "filered" through your kidneys, so if you drink tap water, use a filter or your kidney's will do the filtering for you.
