Difference between hydrocodone and buprenorphine?

Hello! I hope you will be able to explain me following: I want to know what the difference between hydrocodone and buprenorphine is. As I understood, these drugs belongs to same group of drugs (opioid); am I right about this fact? I am thanking you in advance for your prompt reply!

Hello! You are right that hydrocodone and buprenorphine belongs to opioid group of drugs. But, they are not used in same purpose. Namely, hydrocodone is used as pain killer only; but, on the other hand buprenorphine is used to treat narcotic addiction. I hope that I ahev explained you this well.
