Dilantin and hepatitis?

Is there a possible connection between dilantine and hepatitis? I am asking this for my husband who has been using it for past 2 years as an anti-seizure medication. He has been using it together with Phenobarbital. Even though we are careful and he is taking the medication as prescribed, not in any other way, still we know that it is a dangerous medicament. So, does anyone know something of this connection?

There is a possible link between those two medicaments. Dilantin could damage your husband's liver which can lead to hepatitis. There are also some other things that can happen (and dangerous ones, I'll add), such as anemia, impotence, abdominal pain, dizzinessâ€¦ It is said that taking dilantin with food might prevent some of the side effects.
