Hi, I am in my sixth month of pregnancy. The problem is my epilepsy (grand mal). This is my first pregnancy and I am very scared. In the case of seizure, may I take Dilantin? Can you tell me how does that medication affect pregnancy? Do I have a reason to be worried?
Dilantin as an anti epileptic has to be taken gradually in the therapy and must be gradually taken from the therapy. Generally, these conditions might get worse, better, or the status might not change at all. As for pregnancy, it is very important for you to consult your doctor and see what would be the best choice for you and your baby.
