Diphenhydramine and Bronchitis

Hello, I am a mother of 12 years old boy who already has some chronic condition. Actually, he suffers from allergies and sometimes (usually in the spring) breathing problems. Doctor says that he is very close to getting asthma and we are trying to do all we can to prevent that. He even catches bronchitis from time to time. He takes several medications, diphenhydramine being the last one and I would like to hear something about it.

That medication is an antihistamine and it should help your child. And it also can be used for some other conditions, such as occasional sleeplessness, it works by depressing the central nervous system. I just hope your son will get better soon, mine is in the similar situation and he has been on medications for 5 years already, but he leads a more or less, normal life.
