Discharge?

I am 12 years old and have not gotten my period. But, there is some smelly discharge in my underwear. Embarassed

It is white colored. The vulva area is sometimes itchy, but not constantly. I clean the area with soap each time I take a shower (not inside.) I am a virgin.
It is embarassing. Could I have an infection? I am not sure what it could me.

Some girls get their period later, at 14, for example. It's very common. So, if you are worried about your age, don't be.
Then, if you've got that fluid, maybe you should go to the doctor, because it can be an infection. If you had already gotten your period, that would probably be non-menstrual fluid, which some girls have during the days between the cycles.

Hi. I used to get a thick white discharge for ages before I actually got my period. It is nothing to worry about, just your body adjusting as you go through puberty. If it is itchy, it might be a thrush infection. This is very common and can be causes by lots of things including diet, non-breathable undies, dirty hands in the area, and wiping the wrong way when you do number 2's (need to wipe from front to back). You could try having a bath with baking soda in the water, that might clear up a mild infection. Hope this helps
