| Alright, I'm 18 years old and recently noticed that the hair on the underside of my scrotom has faded to a yellow color...they appear to be much courser and far more brittle than the rest of my hair...does anyone know whats going on? It almost seems as though something is coating the hair itself, but i have no idea. Please help!? I have no idea whats going on. |

My friend has complained about the similar thing some time ago and I asked me if I had the same thing going on. But I don’t.
He told me that his pubic hairs, especially under scrotum have turned lighter and yellowish. He said he sort of had some yellowish coating that he could just wash away. Shaving didn’t help because the stuff would grow again on new hairs as well.
He told me he thought it was due to too much sweating but I just couldn’t relate.
I thought he may have lice but he said no itching and he didn’t notice any lice, so I just told him to see a dermatologist or another doctor because they may have a better insight on the problem. Maybe you should do the same? |

My guess is that it's a fungal infection. Try something for jock itch for a couple weeks. If that doesn't work, go to the dermatologist.

| This is the only post I see on the internat about this, I just came out of the shower and noticed the same thing. It has me very nervous and I don't have enough time to go visit a doctor for I am constantly working. If anyone has some real insight on this, please take the time to post your thoughts. |

thank you i jsut starting worrying about this myself
i thought it was becuase i was smoking weed and i cant see a doctor becuase im afraid of a drug test but like what exactly is this stuff beccuase i have it also |

Just kidding dont worry guys it isn't bad at all. I have had it a couple of time now that i think of it. I just got it again and forgot that I had it a few years ago. This site tells all about it.

| thank you all so much. i just got out of the shower no more than 15 minutes ago and noticed it and got very worried. i thought it was a complication because i recently had testicular cancer. but thank god it was not related at all. |

ive searched for ever about this pubic hair discoloration (mostly red) and have noticed since high school, which i believe i contracted it from shared sports uniforms from wrestling and football.
i have shaved and showered and it always comes back... most annoyingly it has a distinct smell
i spoke to my doctor about it and he recommend jock itch cream. |
