Hi my mother is 63 years old and she is on SSRI's for several weeks. She is feeling much better and when she visited her doctor last time he suggested her to stop with therapy. I think that she is in good condition and she doesn't need to take medications any more. Unfortunately I have heard that discontinuing SSRI's may cause some bad effects.

Hi, you are quite right about it. Sudden stopping of therapy may cause symptoms which may be similar to the fever and some other symptoms. Because of that you have to be very careful with it and prolong taking of therapy but lowering of doses. I suggest you to consult your doctor to help you to avoid serous problems which may cause discontinuing SSRI's.
