Hi everybody. I’ve had a rash for 8 years that progressed from my back to my shoulders and then to my chest and stomach. That rash is now moving down my arms. I have been on Lamisil, Pulse packs and almost every other anti-fungal med and antibiotics… It just doesn't stop it!! The rash is very sensitive to sunlight, that I know. I strongly believe that it is systemic. I also recently had a hospitalization for diverticulitis. Could all this be connected?? Can anyone offer any good and logical explanation or advice?? Thank you very much!!!

You should do biopsy, that’s sure. Longstanding rashes are usually fungal, allergic or autoimmune in origin but I don’t think there is a connection to diverticulitis. As I can see from your post, you strongly believe that it is a bacteria of some kind. But, if you have treated it with all anti-fungal meds and had no results, than it is not likely that it had been fungal infection in the first place. Did you take and allergy test?? I think that is the second thing you should immediately do (biopsy is the first). It is very possible that you’re allergic to something that you have a contact with daily. If so, than it would sure tell us why all those meds did not work. Take care.
