I’m 45-year-old-men who have problems with hemmoroid for a long time. I tried different kinds of medicaments with my disease and I succeed to get along somehow all this years. I didn’t have any symptoms for past three years.
But, lately I have noticed blood in my stool, and what is surprised me most is that I didn’t have usual irritation in my anal region. I even felt no pain what so ever.
I contacted my doctor immediately because usual crèmes that I used before can’t help to me now.
Doctor didn’t say anything about my present condition. He just said that surgery is necessary for my present condition and scheduled me for operation tomorrow.
I’m confused because I don’t know why hemorrhoid operation is necessary now and not before.
What could be the cause of my “new” condition?

I understand you completely because I found my self in a same situation last year. I know that every operation is unpleasant but you don’t have to worry because this is not a serious condition and this is not a complex operation.
I believe we’re talking about INTERNAL hemorrhoids.
That kind of hemorrhoids are located in the upper parts of anal tube and that’s why you don’t have usual irritation. They can be very dangerous ‘cause they can bleed for a days without pain and irritation and that’s why they are often called silent killers.
They can’t be treated with usual remedies but only surgically.
Best way to operate hemorrhoids is laparoscopy because scars are smaller and their period of recovery is shorter.
Wish you luck!

I'M SORRY, BUT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS SURGERY COULD BE DONE BY LAPROSCOPY. THE LAPROSCOPE WOULD GO INTO AN INCISION IN THE NAVEL, HOW CAN YOU GO FROM THERE TO INSIDE THE ANAL CANAL? YOU WOULD HAVE TO CUT INTO THE BOWEL INTERNALLY. NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR HEMMOROID SURGERY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DO THE SURGERY RECTALLY. NO MAJOR CUTTING INTO THE BOWEL.
I WONDER IF YOU MEANT LASER SURGERY INSTEAD. AS FOR THAT, I WAS INSTRUCTED THAT IT IS NO LESS PAINFUL AND THAT THE RECOVERY TIME IS STILL THE SAME.
