My problems are concerning polyps. Do polyps break off on their own? I have had problems with them for the last two weeks. My stool became irregular, and I even saw traces of blood in it. Doctor said that there is a possibility that I have polyps in my colon.
He even mentioned something about colonoscopy. How serious this is?

Colonoscopy is a diagnostic procedure in which a camera is passed upon colon to examine the form and number of polyps. As for polyps themselves, they must be removed – procedure is polypectomia. Unfortunately, there is a possibility that they are positioned in hard reachable places, which might ask for a removal of a part of the intestines that has polyps.
