Do sex and menstrual period go together?

Hi. My bf wanted to have sex with me, that was yesterday, I said no because I`m having my period. He said he has no problem with that, but I do. I fear that something could go wrong. Do sex and menstrual period go together?

Hi. My gf and I have sex all the time, even when she has her period. However, sometimes she said she`s in pain and can`t concentrate on anything else. Of course sex&period go together, why not? It`s not really pretty, but I never watch. Nothing can go wrong, really. My ex gf hated sex&period comb, don`t know why exactly.
