Well, if your dad has a high level of bad cholesterol, he is in a risk group for stroke. High level of blood cholesterol is one of the most common risk factor of stroke. Also smokers have a much higher risk of stroke because smoking contributes to plaques in your arteries. High blood pressure and obesity are also the risk factors.
